If it Mean More Glory to my King!

Featuring Dennis Jernigan Posted on April 27, 2010

Let’s think about what the word glory means. There are times in God’s Word where the word glory literally means ‘the weight of God’s presence’. Still other times it means ‘to bring attention and honor’ to God. When the Lord allows us to go through even the most trying of times we can still (maybe not in the moment) be looking to bring Him glory – honor and attention – for what He is doing in spite of the circumstances. I am learning to be pre-emptive in my ‘glory-giving’…by being prepared to look for God’s hand in the midst of the trial and then point out to others the perspective that He sees in it all. What I am discovering is that when I bring Him glory (attention and honor) I always find I become aware of ‘the weight of His presence.’

As you prepare for your day, begin to prepare your heart and mind to respond to all circumstances in such a way as to bring Him glory…and be prepared to sense the weight of His presence as you do!

Or does not the potter have a right over the clay, to make from the same lump one vessel for honorable use and another for common use? What if God, although willing to demonstrate His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction? And (He did so) to make known the riches of His glory upon vessels of mercy, which He prepared beforehand for glory, (even) us, whom He also called, not from among Jews only, but also from among Gentiles. Romans 9:21-24 NASB
