For Knowing You is Worth the Cost

Featuring Dennis Jernigan Posted on April 27, 2010

Many times I have come into contact with people who tell me they are ready to give up on their quest for freedom. Some have endured horrendous abuse from their earliest memories. Some have been so confused in their sexual identity they don’t have one iota of an idea of who they really are. Some have gone through physical trials and injury and disease that would have left anyone ready to throw their hands up in defeat. Personally, there have been many times in my life – especially when I first came into freedom – when giving up and surrendering to the old life seemed easier. Taking the easy way may take some of the pressure off for a season, but in the long run we never get to experience true freedom, true victory, true grace, or true hope. Because I can clearly see how far I had fallen away from the Lord, His love and forgiveness has left me running after Him for many years. He who has been forgiven much loves much. I can tell you this for certain: knowing Jesus intimately has been worth every fall, every calamity, every disappointment, every heartache, every battle, and every cost to my soul. Knowing Him it worth whatever it takes to get to Him. That is the place of freedom.

Allow the Lord to show you the worth of what your freedom has cost you to this point.

It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery. Galatians 5:1 NASB
