Celebrating 15 Years of Getty Hymns

Featuring Posted on March 5, 2016

Easter is one of the most important times of the Church year.  While every worship service we plan should be shaped by the Easter message, this is the time of year when everything in church life and in some sense the larger context of culture is oriented towards the triumph of Jesus over the grave.

It is vital that we sing about the death and resurrection because in many ways that’s all we have (1 Corinthians 15:14). Yet for many people Easter will be their only connection with the Gospel.  Easter is one of the best platforms to really encourage our congregation to sing well.

Every year since we began writing hymns in 2001, beginning with In Christ Alone that year, we have made it a point to write an annual new Easter hymn.  Our goal is to tell the story of Easter through these hymns.

It is our prayer that these hymns will serve your people well as they celebrate the central event in all of history.
